Holiday Decor Inspiration

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! We love the holiday season around here, and one of my favorite parts is decorating our home! I can’t wait to share those photos with you in the coming weeks, but for now, I thought I’d create a couple of holiday decor mood boards!

For this post, I’ve come up with three themes that can all be incorporated into your home.

Pretty Blue Christmas

Gah, I really love this one. This is probably the design that would go best with my current home’s design style and would fit right in. I might even add some of these elements to my holiday decor this year!

Adding that blue ribbon to the garland along a staircase would be really gorgeous. And the pretty gold and white details! This one also makes me think of a pretty snowy day walking through a village center. Not sure why, but that’s where my mind goes and I’m not mad about it!

A Bright Holiday

I’m calling this one “A Bright Holiday” because the greens are definitely lighter than the traditional pine green. Paired with some berry reds, bright golds, and mercury elements, it feels really light and fun.

I picture this going well in a home that has a lot of windows and lets in a lot of natural light. I also think a home with a lot of wood elements would pair perfectly with this one!

New Traditional

And last, but certainly not least, I’m calling this one “New Traditional”. Not surprisingly, this one is my husband’s favorite, since he likes the traditional color schemes the most. I think the richer tones, and the addition of navy blue and gold give this a bit more of a more updated look. And that gold leaf garland! I’m drooling.

I think this theme would go wonderfully in a formal dining room or a study. I’m picturing a room with dark paint and gorgeous molding, and probably a fireplace and chesterfield sofa! Cue future house of my dreams!
