Black Friday 2021: My picks

Black Friday 2021: My picks

I love large sale weekends. As I mentioned in my Closet Organization post, I tend to be pretty minimal when it comes to clothing, and I regularly purge and re-organize what I have. Because of this, I tend to only do 2-3 big shopping trips a year, and Black Friday is one of them. I also really like Memorial Day savings and will hit some Labor Day sales as well.

Generally, once September hits, I start keeping a running list of items that we might need that could be good to hold off until Black Friday to purchase. I don’t have a lot on that list this year. I have two focuses: a new living room sectional and some casual/athletic wear. I don’t really need any new workwear, and we’re pretty set on other houseware items.

Nonetheless, I do love looking through the ads, and I subscribe to Blackfriday.com’s newsletter. I should mention that I don’t actually go physically shopping (usually) because I’m not a fan of the crowds. I do love sitting in my pajamas and ordering though!😉. I’ve put together some of my favorite picks and things that I’m considering purchasing.

Home Depot

These RYOBI combo packs are a great way to build up your tool collection! This is actually how I’ve purchased most of my tools. I’m a huge fan of RYOBI for a few reasons. First, they’re very affordable, but still great quality! I’ve been happy with everything I’ve purchased and they’re a fraction of the cost of some other brands. I also love that they all share the same battery. This makes things so much simpler as you’re going between tools and projects.

I also included this shop vac for a great price. These things are an absolute necessity when you’re doing any type of DIY. Now that we’re in the colder months, I’m forced back into my basement, so I’ll be using mine quite a bit.

I have this same step ladder and it’s extremely useful. Who wants to constantly have to pull out a full ladder when you only need a couple of feet of assistance?

This Kreg pocket hole set is also a great find! They don’t make my model anymore, but I’ve heard good things about the new one. I also love that it includes the clamp. They’re pretty pricey on their own, so combining these in a set makes it a bit more affordable.

Aerie

Aerie is one of my favorite brands for cozy clothing. As you can see, I have quite a few items that I’m eyeing. We’ll see what I end up going with, but I have a feeling, this will likely be a decent size purchase! I don’t have it on this list, but Aerie also has my favorite undies

You can also get an idea of what colors I tend to lean towards, and Aerie definitely has a lot of options in my color palette. I’m particularly hoping to grab that olive green lace-up and the navy varsity cardigan!

Abercrombie and Fitch

If you haven’t tried any of Abercrombie’s sweatshirts or sweatpants recently, you’re missing out. I’ve worn out mine that I snagged last year, but they keep getting cozier as time goes on.

I haven’t had a chance to try their jeans, but I’ve heard such good things that I’m hoping to give them a try. I could use 1 or 2 new pairs, so one of them might be coming from A&F.

J.Crew Factory

Speaking of jeans, I recently bought a pair from J. Crew Factory. Seriously, they may be my favorite pair of jeans I’ve owned. I’ve been eyeing another pair ever since, waiting for them to go on sale, so I’ll definitely be checking on repeat.

J. Crew Factory is one of my favorite places to shop because I can find outfits that are both casual, and great for work. That green skirt is absolutely gorgeous, and I LOVE that grey peacoat. I don’t need a new coat, but it’s so beautiful that if the price is right, it’ll be hard to pass on it.

Old Navy

It really isn’t a sale weekend if I don’t also check out Old Navy! They have such good prices that it’s hard to pass up. This year, I’m probably going to focus on some athletic wear. I could use a couple of new pairs of leggings in particular, and their Powersoft line is one of my favorites.

I’ve also been eyeing a good pair of overalls to use when I DIY, and these seem like a great option! The pajama flannel shorts are some of my favorites and I tend to grab a pair or two each year.

Interior Define

I’ve been searching for a new sectional for close to a year now. I plan on giving my living room a makeover in 2022, and that all starts with this purchase. After months of contemplation, I decided to go with the Sloan chaise sectional from Interior Define. I love how much you can customize it and that the fabric is supposed to be “cat-friendly”. I’m not sure what type of sale they’ll be having, but I made the decision that I would make the purchase on Black Friday, so I’m going with it. Usually, it seems like they do 15% off, which isn’t superb, but it’s better than nothing. If they also throw in free shipping, I’ll be quite pleased!

What Black Friday sales are you most excited about?
